Allan Court Care Home, which is part of Bondcare Shaftesbury, will be joined by the Mayor of Newcastle, Councilor George Pattison, for a special celebration to mark resident, Elizabeth (Betty) Watson’s, 100th birthday.
Betty, who is originally from Gateshead, will mark her milestone birthday with a garden party, with the highlight being a telegram from the Queen, which will be presented to her by Councillor George Pattison.
The garden party will have a colour theme of lemon and lime as these are Betty’s favourite colours and the cake will be decorated similarly.
Betty, who worked as a Wages Clerk for British Road Services all her life, has one sister, Ella Burn, who lives in Surrey, and a close friend Kim Prior, who will join in the celebrations.
Allan Court provides specialist care, including general nursing, general residential, dementia care and adults with learning difficulties for up to 58 elderly residents.
