Members of staff at Debaliol Nursing Home, which is in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, have raised more than £900 for extra treats for residents.
The home held a community spring fair, which included face painting, a tombola, a coloring competition and stalls selling lots of tasty treats such as cakes, ice-creams, homemade jams and chutneys.
The money raised will be put towards extra outings during the summer months for residents, which are always extremely enjoyable and beneficial for the residents at Debaliol Nursing Home.
Based at Woodhorn Road, Debaliol Nursing Home is part of Care Living, and provides residential and nursing care for up to 57 elderly residents. All bedrooms are en-suite and the home has 2 day-lounges, two dining rooms, private gardens and patio areas for residents and their visitors to enjoy.
Jon Barnett, Debaliol Nursing Home Manager, said that ‘The fair was fantastic and was really enjoyable for our residents, who loved meeting many members of our local community’.
‘We’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who helped us raise an impressive amount and our residents are looking forward to the many fun summer outings we have planned for them’.
‘We also held a very well received VE day party which consisted of a video of the history of VE day; a party in the garden which was decked out with bunting; and we organized a range of entertainment to enhance the celebrations. The families and friends of the residents thoroughly enjoyed the event.
